(Transportation-News.com, January 21, 2013 ) Fort Myers, FL -- The ‘Wheels of HOPE’ outreach program presented their annual vehicle giveaway at Collex Collision Experts’ Fort Myers auto body shop and 3 Southwest Florida families were blessed with “like-new” vehicles. The three chosen families attended the event thinking they were going to take part in a final interview. Little did they know they had been chosen to receive a vehicle that very afternoon, a vehicle that was repaired at one of Collex’s auto body shops in Florida.
Board members conducted a ‘mock’ interview as a ploy to ensure their oblivion to what was really going on behind the scenes. After the interview, the recipients and their families were asked to join Collex auto body shop employees for “lunch”. Instead, they were greeted with a booming “SURPRISE”, shouted by more than 80 guests attending the event.
The energy was high while cheering and applause filled the room. .Along with their vehicle, each family was presented with free auto insurance, 1 year’s membership in the AAA Roadside Assistance Program and car seats for their children.
“Wheels of Hope” also provided each family with $300 in gasoline gift cards, as well as $25 to spend at McDonald’s and $250 in Walmart gift cards. The recent presentation is the third straight year that Collex staff at Naples, Cape Coral and Ft. Myers auto body shops have restored vehicles to their “like-new” condition to give to families in need in the Southwest Florida area.
