Looking at the car you might not notice anything out of the ordinary.... But little does the buyer know this car has a lot of damage signs....
(Transportation-News.com, March 11, 2014 ) Commerce Township, MI – After this rough winter many Michigan residents are looking at getting a new ride. There has been a wave of horrible weather conditions ranging from the dreaded polar vortex to ice storms and even something more sinister. The torrential hurricanes the pelted the East Coast and parts of Canada have created muddy conditions and have submerged many automobiles. These cars were left in salt water and mud for long extensive periods of time and have been then sent to remote parts of the U.S. including Metro Detroit where they were promptly put back on the market and sold to unsuspecting car owners.
These cars have popped up recently on B lots, or used car lots, as they are commonly known. The new owners are often kept in the dark until they get these cars home and are then confronted with the horror of having to deal with these horrible situations alone. A recent video by a local oil change place in Commerce Township, Michigan clearly shows one what to look for. These signs include mud lines on the interior of the automobile. The video shows one how to take off the engine cap to see if there is any mud or grass inside of the engine of the car. The average person doesn’t know how to look for this kind of abuse and damage because it is rarely talked about. The message in the video is very clear and it is – buyer beware.
This recent wave of used automobiles have come in through nearby countries such as Canada. Other cars have been shipped in from the East Coast where places like New York and New Jersey have been pelted by unrelenting storms, floods and hurricanes. This can be catastrophic to car owners and these cars have been carelessly left in salt water subjecting them to rust and poor performance.
