  • Tips On How To Clean The Chamois From Experts And Kiserena LLC

(Transportation-News.com, December 08, 2014 ) South Riding, VA -- At the present time a chamois towel is a very popular purchase either for personal use or as a gift. But after using the chamois it's important to know how to clean it properly. Kiserena experts share simple tips on how to clean the Kiserena chamois towel.

The chamois can be used to dry a washed vehicle, but after use it is important to clean it well to maintain its quality. To clean the towel, rinse it thoroughly using a mild soap and warm water. After rinsing the towel and clearing of excess water, wring it out gently and let it dry naturally, preferably away from direct sunlight. Intense heat or direct sunlight can ruin the chamois.

The chamois towel is a light-weight designed cloth that's recognized for its high absorbency. With its absorbency and softness, the chamois is ideal for drying washed vehicles. It can be used by amateur and professional car washers and detail specialists.

Using harsh chemicals for cleaning can strip the oil fabric, which can spoil the softness and absorbency of the towel. Similarly, exposure to intense heat or direct sunlight can dry it out excessively. Drying the chamois too much can turn it out to be stiff and hard to use, though its softness can be brought back through re-oiling. So after cleaning the chamois, hang it indoors on a clothes hanger to dry it properly, or outdoors on a clothes line if the weather condition is mild.

Cleaning the chamois towel between uses is necessary. The chamois does not only take excess water away from the car surface, but also eliminates leftover grime and soap residue. These contaminants are absorbed into the chamois towel, thus using the cloth later on without having it cleaned can leave a spumy residue on the vehicle's paint.

In addition, the absorbed dirt can smear on to the car paint. Some of the absorbed dirt and grime is probably abrasive, and probably will cause the grimy chamois to slightly scratch the car surface if it's improperly cleaned.
