(Transportation-News.com, December 26, 2014 ) Valdosta, Georgia -- Zan Childress joins Choice Automotive Group as the new shop manager. Zan's experience began as a young boy when he started helping out in the family business repairing and servicing semi-trucks. After high school, he earned two business degrees from Valdosta Technical College. Upon graduating, he worked in several positions for local companies as both a technician and later in management.
Mr. Childress is not your average run of the mill new hire. Starting at the age of 10, Zan began learning the skills that would ultimately get him to where he is today. He began working for his step father at Sapp trucking learning all about diesel engines and big trucks. He continued there through high school until he graduated from Colquitt County High in 1996. Shortly after graduating, he moved to Valdosta where he attended Valdosta Technical College, earning degrees in both Business Management and Marketing Entrepreneurship. In 2000, he started working at Yancey Bros as an engine technician. In 2006, Zan became Parts and Service Manger where he served until 2010. After a few years of farming with his family, he became the parts manager at Ag Pro in Valdosta in 2013. He moved to Service Manager at Ag Pro in June 2014 before joining the management team at Choice Automotive. Zan said, "I have always enjoyed building Jeeps, fast cars, and loud engines, so I will be right at home here."
As Parts and Service Manager for Choice, Zan will get to put all of his skills and talents to good use.
