(Transportation-News.com, February 09, 2015 ) Clearwater, Florida -- The new Screaming Banshee Air Horn by PrimeEffects is a small, electric horn that can either connect to the existing motorcycle or scooter horn system, or stand along as its own secondary horn system. It emits a pulsing sound rated at 130 decibels.
"This thing is loud," says PrimeEffects CEO, Philip Jepsen. "Sound is measured in decibels, but we don't always have a good frame of reference for just how loud a certain measurement is. This horn cranks out an ear-splitting one-hundred-and-thirty decibels. How loud is that? To give you a comparison, you would experience that level of sound standing fifty feet away (about the length of an average house) from a fighter jet at full after-burner on the deck of a carrier. You see all the gear those guys on the carrier decks wear to cut the sound. Well, let's just say, at that volume other drivers are going to hear this horn over just about anything else they're doing. Radio, conversations. They could be yelling on the phone not paying attention to anything around them and they're going to wake right up and drop that phone when they hear this. I wouldn't be surprised it this horn scared them right out of your way."
The Screaming Banshee Air Horn comes with all connecting hardware and wiring to connect into the horn system. At the same time as the horn is sounding the high beams are flashed. Can replace your existing horn or be installed as an additional horn. A short press uses the normal horn, but after 0.2 seconds the loud horn is activates with variable sound at 130 decibels.
