  • Gas Prices Rise After Record Lows

(Transportation-News.com, March 01, 2015 ) Durham, Co. Durham -- An article by the Associated Press featured in The Washington Post last week reports that the cost of a regular gallon of Gasoline has risen for the past four weeks. This was taken from the Lundberg Survey released on Sunday.

The survey highlights an increase of almost $0.26 per Gallon over the last month 4 week period, with Los Angeles having the highest price at over $2.90 a gallon and Salt Lake City having the lowest at $1.91. Steelworker strikes at several refineries and a rise in the cost of crude oil in January are thought to be the catalyst for this turnaround in prices at the pumps.

In order to help motorists combat the rise in Gasoline price David Cooke, one of the directors at P.I. Auto Store, offers the following advice: "Keeping your car's tires at the correct pressure is one of the most cost effective ways of keeping motoring costs down. Under inflated tires can cost motorists $50 or more a month through increased gas consumption and wear on the tire. Therefore one of the simplest ways to prevent this is to keep a tire pressure gauge in your car. The Tire Pressure Gauge by P.I. Auto Stores has a large 2.5 inch dial display making it easy to read and can accurately measure tire pressure in the range of 0-100Psi, making it suitable for nearly all types of vehicles, including Motorhomes, SUV's, Bikes, ATV's and small Trucks. To help motorists further all Tire Pressure Gauges come with an Exclusive Guide to Better Gas Mileage"
