(Transportation-News.com, October 15, 2015 ) Aptos, CA -- According to Consumer Reports and AAA, being able to easily monitor the proper inflation of a vehicle's tires is vital to a person's safety. Every parent and young driver should have a digital tire pressure gauge in their vehicle to check the tire pressure of the vehicle once a month. Likewise, according to a new survey commissioned by Michelin North America, four out of five Americans can tell someone about the make or model of their first car, but only one in five (21 percent) remember the type of tires - a core contributor to road safety.
Many people are reminded of the importance of tire safety in the summer leading up to Labor Day, a time that can be deadliest for teenage drivers according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and National Safety Council. But Betty's Auto Shop wants every family to keep tire safety and health in mind for each driver in the family all year long.
A new digital tire gauge designed and priced for families is being released in early Fall. Parents and their teenage drivers can now ensure that they have an easy to use and dependable tire gauge in their glove compartments at all times as they enter into the New Year.
"As a family company dedicated to bringing high quality products to market for every driver in the family,"said Betty McCollum, president, Betty's Auto Shop, "we want to ensure that every driver knows how to maintain their vehicle's tires safety and has our automotive tool handy to check tire pressure quickly and effectively."
To find out what the correct tire pressure is for a specific tire, one should first look in the vehicle's owner manual. Correct tire pressure should also be listed on the tire placard attached to the inside of the vehicle's door, glove box door or fuel door.
