 (EMAILWIRE.COM, December 01, 2011 ) New York, NY -- Margin call is a Wall Street thriller that hit theaters in the Fall of 2011. It depicts an unnamed investment bank in the moments that directly precede the financial crisis of 2008. The Margin Call movie starts with a mass layoff in which Eric Dale sneaks a flash drive to his young colleague before leaving. The contents of the flash drive reveal staggering figures that could change the fate of the company as well as the entire nation. As more executives learn of this news, they are thrust into a moral debate about how to handle the situation.
The story is loosely based on the events that happened at the now infamous Lehman Brothers and captures the psychology of the employees at each level of the firm. Margin Call is a low budget independent movie directed by J.C. Chandor and has an all star cast of Academy Award winners and nominees which include Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto and Demi Moore.
The movie will make its way into stores on DVD and Blu-ray, and will also be available for digital download. The DVD and blu-ray will include bonus material such as audio commentary from writer/director J.C. Chandor and producer Neal Dodson, behind-the-scenes featurettes on the making of Margin Call and moments with the cast and crew, and deleted scenes. The Margin Call release date is set for December 20, 2011.
