(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 25, 2012 ) Santa Monica, California - World-Airport-Database.com has made the largest online airport database for sale to the public.
“So many people have come to us looking to buy the database so they could use it either for themselves or for their business, but we never had an easy way of really getting it to them.” says World-Airport-Database.com founder Steve Donaldson, explaining why the site has started selling copies of the entire database.
The site itself has been widely used, receiving over 200,000 visitors since 2008, mostly from people looking for airport codes in the United States. The traffic has picked up in the past year, accounting for nearly 100,000 of the total visitors since the site was launched.
Businesses and individuals can use the database in order to get information specific to a certain airport, such as: city, country, FAA designation, coordinates, timezone, and several other calling codes. This would be especially useful for pilots, aircraft maintenance companies, travel agents, etc.
When asked about price, Donaldson responds, “We priced it pretty competitively at $495, other companies sell similar databases for double that price, and they don’t even contain as much information as our database does.”
