(Transportation-News.com, October 19, 2012 ) Bayswater, VIC -- According to recent car sales reports from Australia, car sales have been very strong during 2012; in fact it is reported that new car sales rose 9.2% since September of 2011. The same data shows that Toyota is still leading the charge among Australian buyers, with Toyotas accounting for 19.2% of the market share of car sales in August.

According to the owner of Hall 4x4 Salvage, retailer of second hand 4x4 parts throughout Australia, Australia is entering somewhat of a golden age for the entire car industry. Australia, like most of the world, has been plagued with a difficult economy over the past few years, but the owner of Hall feels that the focus on the auto industry, throughout the country, is a sign of good things to come for everyone involved in the car and vehicle industry.
Hall 4x4 Salvage may seem like an unlikely recipient of the benefits of the rise in new auto sales, but they say just the opposite is true.
“We’re happy when the auto industry is thriving, because we’re an offset of the auto industry, and we usually thrive by association,” said the owner of Hall. “We’re also encouraged by data showing that Australians are buying Toyotas, above all other car brands, because we specialize in used Toyota parts in Melbourne, and accessories. We’re happy to see Toyota owners flooding the market, because eventually these are the people that are going to need the parts and services that we offer.”
The owner of Hall also says it’s good news, because as more people are opting to buy new vehicles, that generally means they’re going to be selling their old cars, and sometimes that means they’ll be selling their cars as salvage.
“When people are making the investment to buy new vehicles, we’re also happy because it generally means we’re getting fresh, new inventory, and we’re able to offer our customers the best products, and new options, for sale,” said the owner of Hall.
Hall’s owner also says that even though proposed new steel tariffs in Australia may be problematic for car manufacturers, they are also good news for a salvage business, like theirs.
“When something like a steel tariff is imposed, it means that people are going to be looking for resources that already exist in Australia, rather than looking outside of Australia to import expensive new products to make new parts,” said the owner of Hall. “We look at our business as a form of recycling, which is going to be very beneficial to a lot of car-related businesses here in Australia, if a steep steel tariff is imposed.”
