  • Satisfaction Rates High at Orlando International reports Affordable Car Hire

    (Transportation-News.com, January 25, 2013 ) Broxbourne, U.K -- High marks were given by departing passengers at the Orlando International Airport. However, the airport parking shuttles are slower than those located off the airport, according to the survey that was taken on Thursday.

    Nearly 86% of the 513 individuals who partook in the survey over the 2012 summer were satisfied with the airport operations. It was also noted in the survey that waiting times for getting through U.S. Transportation Administration had diminished.

    Still, the airport shuttles were a marked disappointment, as the passengers taken from the to the airport terminals in under 15 minutes only 50% of the time. That is a poor showing as the off-airport parking shuttles have a 100% mark for the same time period. Nearly 33% of those who were surveyed responded with waits of 16-30 full immunities before they arrived at the terminal.

    The poor showing points to an obvious problem in parking logistics and set-up. “We need to work on parking,” Phil Brown, executive director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority told me after a meeting of the authority, where the survey was released.

    The wait times for the parking and security checkpoints was one of the areas that must be addressed by authority members. Domingo Sanchez is one such administrator who is looking into general customer service improvements, while Dean Asher is in charge of security screening protocol.

    “I’ve seen some issues to address,” Sanchez said, although he declined to reveal specifics and deferred to a Feb. 1 authority meeting when GOAA is scheduled to discuss customer service.

    The wait times for the immigration and passport control and baggage check that were given by survey responders over a year ago, but Brown and other authority administrators still are concerned that the satisfaction in these areas could be better. Customs and immigration was given an 81% satisfaction rating in November of 2011; however, in August of 2012, that number had fallen to 73% satisfaction.
