  • Novi Auto Body shop, Collex Collision Answers Some Frequently Asked Collision Repair Questions

    (Transportation-News.com, January 31, 2013 )

Novi, MI --Taking some of the confusion and apprehension out of auto body repair is Collex Collision’s (www.collex.com) goal. They really are the collision experts and they are often asked questions about the collision repair process. In fact, customers are encouraged to ask questions at Collex Collision’s Novi auto body shop and their other 14 auto body shops in Michigan and Florida. Here are some questions that they are frequently asked:

    • Is it required to make an appointment for an estimate?

At Collex, one does not need an appointment, however it is recommended. At Collex, they know that one’s time is valuable, and scheduling an appointment allows Collex to give the customer their undivided attention and to address all of their customer’s concerns.

    • Is one required to get three estimates?

No, one does not need to get three estimates. One has the right to choose the Auto Body Repair Shop to repair one’s damaged vehicle based on the shop’s ability to repair the damaged vehicle, not the cheapest price.

    • How long will it take to repair the damaged vehicle?

The repair time will depend on the amount of damage on the vehicle, and the availability of parts. Collex will provide the customer with a target date once the vehicle has been inspected, an accurate appraisal has been completed and parts availability is confirmed. Collex will also update the customer throughout the vehicle repair process so that one knows how the repair is progressing.

    • What about deductibles?

One’s insurance policy requires the policyholder, to pay a portion of the claim which is referred to as a deductible. The insurance company will deduct this amount from the final payment to the shop. Shops that advertise that they will “pay” one’s insurance deductible are typically “short cutting” the repair to cover the deductible amount.

    • Who does one pay the deductible to?

The deductible payment is due and payable at time of pick up to the auto collision repair shop.

    • Does one have to pay the repair bill and get reimbursed from the insurance company?

No, most insurance companies issue payments directly to the shop once the repairs have been completed.

Collex Collision Experts wants to take some of the apprehension out of the auto body repair process. They advise that if a customer has a question any time during the repair, they should ask. There should be no surprises when one picks up their vehicle from the auto body shop.
