In fact, the protection can make getting into a wreck in a rental much less expensive than getting in a wreck within one's own vehicle. "That is really the beauty of having a credit card because often times with your automobile insurance you have a deductible of $1000 and you are liable for that if you don't have the supplemental coverage that is supplied by your credit card," said Rosemarie Clancy from Credit-Land.com.
The coverage is not universal, however, as exotic cars are often not covered under cred card insurance. That is likely due to both the overall price, and the likelihood of individuals taking more chances in a more exotic car. Certain trucks and SUV are also outside the parameters of credit card coverage.
