(Transportation-News.com, March 16, 2015 ) Clearwater, Florida -- Philip Jepsen, CEO of Clearwater, Fl based PrimeEffects, distributor of the Screaming Banshee Air Horn, reports that the horn is now rated at over one-hundred-and-thirty (130) decibels. The Screaming Banshee Air Horn is a small electric horn designed for use in conjunction with an existing horn system or as a stand-alone system.
"A hundred-and-thirty decibels is loud," says Mr. Jepsen. "Sirens aren't even that loud. We did some checking, and that volume compares to being about fifty feet away from a jet fighter at full afterburner. When you trigger this thing no one is going to miss it. I don't care if they're in their care with the air on, blasting their music and on the phone all at the same time. The sound on this horn is penetrating."
The Screaming Banshee Air Horn is intended for use on motorcycles or scooter, though it also works on jet ski's, boats, cars, or anywhere an electrical system is available to power the horn. The Air Horn comes with all needed wiring and connection instructions.
"The horn unit is small and mounts easily," says Mr. Jepsen. "It tucks out of the way so it ends up very unobtrusive. If you hook it to your existing horn system you can continue to use your usual horn, then, when you really want to get people's attention, a full depression of the horn button sets this thing off and ... you will be heard. It flashes the high beams as well, for an additional visual cue." Mr. Jepsen reports that the PrimeEffects Screaming Banshee Air Horn system can also stand alone. "If you just want this to go off when you press the horn," he says, "you can set it up as a stand-alone system."
