  • Kingsley Locksmith Discusses Craigslist Car Transaction Tips, Highlights Safety

(Transportation-News.com, April 23, 2015 ) Ann Arbor, MI – "Buying cars on Craigslist may give consumers a good deal but transactions can be quite hazy," shares Kingsley Locksmith. "For one, the actual thing may be entirely different from what you see on screen."

Private citizens make use of Craigslist in selling second-hand vehicles, but there are instances where some sellers make use of salvaged old cars to get profit. "Consumers must be ready for the red flags which can be detected from the seller's statement," continues the locksmith service in Ann Arbor.

With this, Kingsley Locksmith invites the community to be wary of 'curbstoners'. Looking into the car's records and a proper test drive can help avoid future regret. The locksmith service also advises being discreet on giving one’s information to the seller during the initial rounds of interview.

“One of the best things you can do to keep you and your money safe, is to do a background check on the vendor first, before revealing much of yourself. Don’t look too eager to buy the vehicle; give enough leeway for a better deal and for trust to be established between you and the seller.”

StopCurbstoning.Com advises buyers to "buy the seller" before buying the car. "If something sounds fishy, walk away. If something doesn’t add up, walk away."

The website aims to stop fraud sellers by providing practical tips for the buying community to be conscious of their purchases. More tips about Craigslist car transactions are found on www.stopcurbstoning.com/consumers/buy-wisely/.

The lack of brick-and-mortar stores make buyers vulnerable to crimes happening during meet-ups. However, sellers may also be in danger.

Just recently, a Pittsfield Township man was ransacked at gunpoint while performing a transaction with a buyer who wished to purchase his iPhone. The two met on Craigslist and arranged a meeting at the victim's apartment.

Both spoke briefly about the purchase when the suspect revealed his handgun, ordering the man to hand out his phone and jewelry and immediately fled.
