Ally Turner, CEO of the New Wave Trading Company Ltd explains. "As part of my job, I often I find myself driving many miles to visit customers or suppliers and am lucky enough to have driven on some of the most scenic highways in the US. On the day concerned, I was enjoying some spectacular countryside, great weather and enjoyable motoring when suddenly I saw someone throw a coffee cup and what looked like paper and food scraps from the window of the car in front, it barely missed my hood and as I glanced in my rear view mirror I saw it bouncing along before coming to a stop on the verge. I mean who would do that? At first I couldn't believe what I was seeing, then it made me so angry I wanted to do something but other than chase after the guy, I didn't really know how to handle the situation, except to go back and pick it up myself but if I did, I didn't have anything to pick it up with, or to put it in. This got me to thinking about the whole aspect of litter on the highway."
Once back at her desk, Ally did a few quick searches on the internet which revealed that over 51.2 billion pieces of litter are left on roads in the U.S., shockingly, this equates to almost 7000 pieces for every mile. "This made me want to do something about it." Said Ally. Furthermore, a survey found that food packaging made up nearly half of all litter, including fast food, snack and other products. Soft drink and beer containers were also a major problem. "I then thought about the facility of litter disposal in cars and really there is nothing that works that well. If you have a leaky drinks carton or coffee cup then the only option is to put it on the floor, on the seat or in a side pocket, which can be difficult to clean up after. From this point, I asked Eric, our Design Engineer to have a look at some products to find one we would be happy to put our name to and today I am happy to tell you that the New Wave Trading Company Ltd now has their very own Auto Trash Buddy".
The Auto Trash Buddy provides a convenient answer to the problem of vehicle trash and helps organise and keep cars clean and tidy all at the same time. It is designed to clip onto the back or front of any car seat and conceals the trash with its flip up lid.
