  • New Product From Ryder Tools May Help Drivers Solve The Problem Of Under-inflated Tires

(Transportation-News.com, November 11, 2015 ) South Plainfield, New Jersey -- Ryder Tools LLC, a New Jersey based online retailer that sells quality automotive products, recently announced the launch of their brand new Digital Tire Pressure Gauge. A small, handy, little gadget that allows drivers to quickly and easily monitor the pressure levels on their vehicles' tires. This product was designed to offer optimal portability and convenience while not sacrificing on quality or accuracy.

Most motorists are not aware of the importance of having properly inflated tires. Vehicles today clearly specify the exact pressure levels they need to have on their tire placard (a sticker found on the driver's side door jamb). Yet many drivers do not notice this, and even if they do they don't know if their tires are at those levels. As a consequence they often drive around with under or over-inflated tires. These improperly inflated tires can have negative consequences on the performance, fuel economy and safety of their vehicles.

Perhaps the greatest danger of under-inflated tires is decreased handling of the vehicle, especially when being driven through the rain or snow (hydroplaning can occur on wet roadways and skids can occur on icy or snowy roads). Under inflated tires can also decrease stopping distance when a sudden brake is applied. Any driver can attest to the fact that often the difference between an accident and a near miss is inches.

Not only is it not safe to have improperly inflated tires, but it also costs drivers money. One way is through decreased fuel economy. Under-inflated tires result in increased rolling resistance and therefore require more energy (or fuel) to move the vehicle. "Just think," said Sana Jaleel, Chief Product Officer for Ryder Tools, "with every spin of your wheel, you could be throwing money away. Because of a problem that is easily preventable".

Another consequence of improperly inflated tires is increased tread wear on the rubber of the tires. Improper inflation puts unnecessary stress on tires and can result in excessive or uneven wear. These tires have an increased possibility of becoming flat and often need to be replaced after only a few thousand miles on them.

There are several factors which can cause tires to lose pressure, foremost of these is a sudden change in the weather. So those motorists who park their vehicle outside where the temperature quickly changes from hot to cold (like in desert climates or even in temperate zones during the autumn and spring months) need to be especially careful.

This is why tire experts recommend checking the air pressure at least once a month. Which for most motorists is far more frequent than how often they take their car in for service at their dealer or local mechanic. And many shops do not check the tire pressure as part of regular car maintenance. The only other option then for those motorists who do not have a tool like this new offering from Ryder Tools is to use the tire pressure gauge at the local gas station. But these are not without their problems.

Often times the gas station tire pressure gauges are clunky and hard to use. They have to be inserted just right to get the correct reading, and even when they do show a reading, it is hard to make out. Since these gauges are not digital, the measurement they show is not easily visible or understandable. Often times the numbers are rusted out, or covered in soot. And at night, they are almost impossible to read.

To address all of these problems, Ryder Tools brings to the market their new product. To celebrate its launch, for a limited time only, the company is offering the product for sale at more than 50% off the normal retail price. As of now this product is only available for sale through Amazon, although the company is actively working with other online retailers and also looking to start selling on their own website.
