(Transportation-News.com, June 29, 2016 ) Vancouver, BC -- Vehicular Technologies reported today that its quarterly earnings were much better than predicted for one of its flagship products. Michael Blackmore, the company's co-founder and spokesman, stated that "the Christmas season is always huge, but then we normally expect a big downturn in the first quarter. However, this year was different." He was unable to point to a single factor that may have resulted in the unexpected improvement for the company, but he indicated that he was hiring extra staff to deal with the volume.
The firm puts a strong emphasis on environmentally superior products that offer a benefit to the planet through longer-lasting materials. For example, its nine square foot absorbent microfiber drying towel is aimed at people who recognize high quality manufacturing and the resulting lessened impact on landfill sites throughout the United States and Canada.
The microfiber product, used for pets and household use, but mainly as a car drying towel, absorbs four times its weight in water, says Blackmore. "We've tested it against our competitors, and we stand proudly behind our fabric," he stated.
The fabric uses a waffle-weave structure, and according to staff, the microfiber traps water and dirt particles more readily, moving them away from the surface of the vehicle. Regular cotton or even leather towels have a tendency to push water along the vehicle's surface, resulting in water spots and streaks.
Vehicular Technologies partnered with Amazon, and according to Blackmore, will continue that relationship, mainly because Amazon's big network of fulfillment centers spread across North America brings consistently rapid shipping times to almost every customer. He insisted that fulfillment has gone very smoothly, even during the long, cold winter that many US states faced this year. "Look for our expansion to Europe . . . coming soon," he said.
