(Transportation-News.com, July 13, 2012 ) Wilmington, NC -- Consumers are learning that saving up for a new vehicle can be as easy as creating a profile on an internet social media site. Well, as easy as that and putting away cash each month as well.
Motozuma.com, the social site, lets members share their profiles with friends and others through Twitter and on Facebook. These folks can then choose to help their pal save up. Even some automakers have jumped onboard the social site. Hyundai, for example, will match up to $500 on the sum saved for the purchase of a new vehicle.
Though most have not yet heard of the site, Motozuma founder and CEO John Morgan says that the site has tens of thousands of members. He added that the average Motozuma user saves $830 towards a down payment. Some auto finance observers feel that this sort of site is exactly what subprime borrowers need.
