  • Royal Chauffeur for the Queen job up for grabs reports VHA.com.au

(Transportation-News.com, September 09, 2012 ) San Francisco, CA - If you want to drive around for the Queen in a Rolls Royce then this is your best chance to do so as the Queen has advertised for a chauffeur and eligibility requires you to have a UK driving license with a little tact, and diplomacy.

The advertisement on the Royal Family’s official website showed a vacancy arisen within the Lord Chamberlain’s office for a driver based at Buckingham Palace.

The 23,000 pounds-a-year job is based on working 48 hours a week with free accommodation available for the successful candidate according to Daily Mail.

Driving for the Queen for 23,000 pounds a year may seem less for such a high profile role but the job has its added perks. Living in palaces and castles is an opportunity many job-seekers will find difficult to turn down. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate good administration skills with the experience of using email.

"You will be responsible for driving members of the Royal Family, Household officials, guests and official visitors as directed by the Head Chauffeur," the job description reads.

Motivation and being "committed to maintaining high standards" are also among the key skills listed.

"Professional driving experience would be an advantage" and "due to the nature of the position, the post holder must have a flexible approach to his working hours and weekend duties."

The successful applicant will be working five days out of seven and will be principally based at the Royal Mews.

The Queen also advertised a 50,000 pounds-a-year job for the position of a house manager to ensure the smooth running of all her properties in June this year.
