(EMAILWIRE.COM, February 10, 2010 ) SAN JOSE, Costa Rica, Feb. 8, 2010 – On February 2nd NatureAir CEO Alex Khajavi accepted the 2009 Geotourism Challenge award on behalf of the company. Last year the global online community chose NatureAir for its efforts to offset 100 percent of its greenhouse gas emissions to encourage reforestation in Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula.
During the presentation Mr. Khajavi conveyed to the audience his passion to preserve the world’s special places. “We are rebels by nature and want to be catalysts for change.”
Around 200 leaders attended the Summit to discuss advances advances in geotourism and other new trends in sustainable travel. As a winner NatureAir received a $5,000 prize. The airline plans to reinvest its monetary winnings in its carbon neutral program and non-profit educational organization NatureKids.
